The lamp appears free of any crazing or other small chips to the ceramic. A little scratching and age signs on the metals but nothing you would not expect from a used vintage item. Brass base should polish up very nicely or leave as is for a vintage look. This is a beautiful DAVART lamp.
This lamp does come with the shade shown in the pictures; it's not original to the lamp, but it looks good on it and it's an high-quality, double-walled shade. The shade is 6" by 12" by 9" tall.
The lamp is in a classical urn shape, with raised four footed brass base.
Mark: Davart triangle logo mold mark on the underside of the foot.
Davart was a high-end manufacturer of electric lamps in the xxxxs and xxxxs in New york City. They worked with pottery and porcelain parts supplied by a number of different manufacturers, but their closest ties were with the Lenox china Co of Trenton, NJ, whose lead designer created parts specifically for use in Davart lamps.
